GROW Common Initiative Group, known as GROW CIG, was formed on 12th April 2026 at a constituent meeting held in Mejang, Belo Sub-Division, North West Region, Cameroon. We are a registered Common Initiative Group, created and governed under Cameroon's cooperative law, Law No. 92/006 of 14 August 1992 and its implementing decrees. GROW CIG was founded by 27 members who came together with a shared goal, to help farming families in our community save, borrow, and grow with the support of one another.
Our members are active across poultry farming, crop cultivation, and livestock production, growing garden crops such as huckleberry, tomato, pepper, and potatoes, as well as staple crops like maize, beans, rice, cassava, and plantain. We support animal production including poultry, pigs, goats, cattle, sheep, and fish farming. Beyond agriculture, GROW CIG runs a Njangi savings scheme among members and offers group loans designed around real farming cycles, so members always have support when they need to plant, expand, or recover.
GROW CIG is guided by two main organs, the General Assembly and the Executive Bureau. The General Assembly is the supreme decision-making body, made up of all registered members, and meets regularly to review the group's activities and direction. The Executive Bureau, elected by the General Assembly for renewable three-year terms, handles the day-to-day organization and functioning of the group. Our accounts are closed and audited regularly to keep every member's contribution transparent and protected. GROW CIG is chartered to exist for 99 years, built for the long-term prosperity of our community.
Beyond savings and credit, GROW CIG invests in its members through training and education, covering fish farming, animal breeding, climate-smart practices like tree planting, health awareness on topics such as HIV, AIDS, and HPV, and craft skills like embroidery. We believe growth is more than financial, it is knowledge, health, and community shared together. Every member has the right to vote, participate in meetings, and share in the group's progress, because GROW CIG belongs to all of us.
